Our Story
VanRein Compliance was born from the shared vision of Rob and Dawn Van Buskirk in 2016. With a deep passion for data security and a combined experience of over 25 years in the realms of IT, healthcare, and insurance, their journey into the world of cybersecurity was destined to make an impact.
Rob's career path took him through the ranks at IBM, where he honed his expertise in cutting-edge technology solutions. His tenure with a Swiss-based company further solidified his commitment to data security as he worked on projects that spanned continents and industries.
Dawn's career spans the insurance industry, with significant roles at Progressive and American Family Insurance. Her experience managing retirement accounts in finance services adds a unique dimension to VanRein Compliance, enriching our understanding of regulatory intricacies and financial data protection.

With a degree in Information Security & Assurance from Kennesaw State University and 10+ years of customer success experience, Michael brings a deep knowledge of compliance and account management across various industries.
Hobbies & Passions:
In his free time, you can find Michael on the golf course, taking care of his lawn, woodworking or firing up the grill for a cookout. He also enjoys relaxing with his wife and their 2 dogs.
Fun Fact:
Despite living in Atlanta, Michael is an avid Chicago sports fan. He takes an annual trip to Wrigley Field with his dad and brother to watch the Cubs play.
Kristin Bornfleth

As a dedicated Customer Experience Specialist, Kristin prides herself on ensuring that our customers feel special and a true part of the VanRein Compliance Family. Our customers often commend Kristin's gift giving.

With a degree in Business and Marketing from University of North Texas, Kristin brings a wealth of knowledge and skill set, including attention to detail and document inspection.
Hobbies and Passions:
For free time, Kristin is heavily involved in volunteering with her teenage daughter’s choir group, learning about gaming from her teenage son and enjoys quiet family time. It's this balance of dedication at work and relaxation off-duty that keeps them grounded and refreshed.

Dawn Van Buskirk
Service Focused:
As a dedicated Co Founder and COO, Dawn prides herself on creating and maintaining processes that help her team work smarter and not harder. Dawn also works side-by-side with her husband and partner Rob Van Buskirk to ensure that the VanRein vision is emulated throughout the customer experience.
Education & Expertise:
With a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising from the University of Northern Colorado, Dawn brings a wealth of knowledge and skill set, including operations, account management, finances, and insurance to VanRein.
Hobbies and Passions:
Free time for Dawn often means walking our 2 Labs Riley and Oliver, sipping espresso, and cooking. Her passions are watching her son Ethan march in the highschool band, planning the next European trip with her husband, Rob and son, Ethan, and watching and attending F1 races.
Fun Fact about me:
Dawn’s birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day and she finds cleaning and organizing her home very therapeutic.
Rob Van Buskirk
Service Focused:
As the Co-Founder and CEO, Rob focuses on creating customer experiences that secure his customers' data while educating and wowing them along the way. Rob and Dawn are not only married but also work side-by-side to lead VanRein and the team to ensure that the vision is implemented and emulated throughout the customer experience.
Education & Expertise:
Rob is a bootstrapped and self-educated Co-Founder and CEO who leveraged his 20 + years of data security and compliance at IBM and multiple startups in the US and Europe to bootstrap a company that would elevate the customer experience in the data security space.
Hobbies and Passions:
Free time for Rob often means walking our 2 Labs Riley and Oliver, finding the next great BBQ place in Texas. He also enjoys cooking for the family and loves to travel and explore different cultures and food. You will find Rob planning the next European trip to the next F1 race.
Fun Fact about me:
Rob is a band geek! Not only does he love to watch his son Ethan March in the High School Band he too was in the marching band and even marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced GRC Compliance Auditor to join our growing data security and compliance business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing practices, with a focus on compliance standards including HIPAA, SOC2, ISO27001, and GDPR. This role involves conducting internal audits to ensure that all company practices adhere to legal standards and internal policies. The candidate will be responsible for identifying risks, providing recommendations for improvements, and ensuring that the company maintains its compliance with industry regulations and standards.
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our growing data security and compliance business as a Customer Success Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service, project management, Technical Auditing and a keen understanding of compliance regulations and auditing, particularly in the areas of HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO27001, and SOC2.
